Location:Known as the Detroit of India, Pune is epicenter of automobile manufacturing and auto allied industries. Large automotive companies like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, General Motors, Volkswagen, Fiat, Force Motors (Firodia Group) and Kinetic Motors have their manufacturing centres in and around Pune. Several automotive component manufacturers like Saint-Gobain Sekurit, Tata Autocomp Systems Limited, Robert Bosch GmbH, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Visteon, and Continental Corporation are in this region. Moreover, Pune has emerged as a hub for high-tech companies catering to all segments of the Electronics/IT value chain. As the hub of automotive & high-tech industries, Pune qualifies to be the right location for setting up MOTION.
Partners:The partner ecosystem comprises Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, STPI, Govt. of Maharashtra, Tata Motors, Kinetic Group, Intel, MathWorks, Visteon Technical and Services Centre Pvt. Ltd., Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Society of Automotive Engineers INDIA (SAEINDIA), TiE Pune and College of Engineering, Pune.
Target Beneficiaries: 51 startups over a period of 5 years.
Duration: The CoE is proposed to be operational for five years from the date of its launch.
Budget & Source of Funding: A budgetary outlay of Rs. 20 crores shared by MeitY with Rs. 8 crores, STPI & industry partners with Rs. 5.75 crores and the rest Rs. 6.25 crores by Govt. of Maharashtra.
